Events

Club Access

As many of you are aware, the main door and lower gate face recognition camera system continues to be problematic, although for some reason, it works perfectly for some members while not for others. Smiling doesn’t work! We have asked our security company, Buffalo Soldiers, to sort it out, and a final decision on whether to keep or replace it will be made by your committee next month.

Club Facilities

Refurbishment of the toilets is now done, and thanks to the contractor JMN Plumbing and committee member Peter Plachkov for a job well done, and the additional work for the same price. You may have noticed that the corridors have a fresh coat of paint and a new side door.

A reminder that our conference room is available to rent at a discounted rate for members. For bookings speak to Qinso or Lolo at reception or contact Barry on 76023345 or barrytakis@gmail.com.

Price Increase

Inevitably, but it has been over a year, it’s necessary to increase prices in the Lang Bar. However, the good news is that many items are not going up in price, but some are going up considerably, e.g., Hunter’s Xtreme by E6.50, Windhoek Lager by E5.50, and Windhoek Draught by E5, due to increase in wholesale prices. A full list of the bar prices, old and new, can be found on our website here. The 75% markup over wholesale purchase prices is part of the terms of our agreement with Fat Baz Hamburger Hut Pty Ltd., who lease the Albert Millin premises and the gym and retain bar profits, and in return manage the club, employ staff, and pay all our utility bills.

Miscellany

WANTED – a hallway table, about 50cm wide and 120cm long, or thereabouts. It’s for the club’s entrance hall. If you have one to get rid of, or know where we can get one, please get in touch. Thanks

Sports Sections

The tennis section has one advertising space available for rent at E2,500 per annum. The funds raised help to support the tennis facilities. Contact Peter at 7603 2319.
